2. Claudio Castagnoli
Being a Claudio Castagnoli fan is a Sisyphean effort - every time the Swiss superstar gets close to the summit, the hand of fate slaps down and sends him crashing back down the mountain.
Watching Claudio put over a corporation's golden boys has been a frequent theme in the suffering Swiss' career. It happened repeatedly in his tenure at WWE, and it's happening again in AEW.
After making the debut of the year with AEW, Castagnoli made like his old Bar partner Sheamus and put on banger after banger after banger with the Ring of Honor World Championship. Unfortunately, despite receiving raucous crowd reactions, the executives at AEW apparently perceive Claudio to be as marketable as barbed-wire cough drops. Despite proving his worth time and time again, Claudio has once again found himself being pushed aside for a more familiar name - in this case, Chris Jericho, who purloined Castagnoli's Ring of Honor World Championship.
As the French-speaking superstar himself might say, la plus c'est change. Or maybe just merde!
