8. Kamala
The polite and friendly James Harris is quite different from the persona he portrayed during his career. When he stepped into the squared circle, Harris transformed into the cannibalistic "Ugandan giant" Kamala, who became one of the most well known characters in the history of the sport. Prior to adopting the savage character, Harris wrestled in several territories for a few years until Jerry Lawler asked him to wrestle in Memphis. The early 80s provided an opportunity for the untamed wild man to wrestle the top stars in Memphis, Mid South and other territories. Kamala's ability to be perceived as dangerous allowed him to work top matches when he signed to the WWE. Kamala feud with Andre The Giant and Hulk Hogan during his initial run with the company. The character was over enough with the audience that Kamala had another run in the WWE in the early 1990s, mostly notable feuding with The Undertaker. After left the WWE, Kamala made sporadic appearances over the years until complications from diabetes forced him into retirement in 2011.
