10 Best Anti-American WWE Heels Ever

9. The Un-Americans (Christian, Storm, Test & Regal)

The United States of America post September 11, 2001 became a very patriotic nation. American pride was always strong, but after the 9/11 attacks it took things to a whole other level with good reason. People were sad about what happened and they had to show that America was still strong. Of course WWE knew that, so they created a group to target those pro-American fans in the summer of 2002. Since WWE didn't want to go overboard with the anti-American gimmick at that time, they used three Canadian guys in Lance Storm, Christian and Test to initially form the group. Later that summer, England's William Regal joined to form a foursome that were strongly against America. One of the big ways they drew heat was they carried around an upside down American flag. It was a huge sign of disrespect, but it worked. Of course it did. The group had some success as Christian and Storm became tag team champions while Test was pushed into a singles feud into a rivalry with Undertaker. His push didn't last too long, though. Regal also won the tag titles with Storm although by that point the group faded away. It's a shame that they didn't work together longer because four months was too brief. However, there were also stories that the members of the group were concerned for their well being due to story they were involved in. Any time you're traveling around America telling the fans that they suck that is going to legitimately upset people and the wrestlers were worried about what might happen if they kept the angle going. This is a WWE only list, but it should be noted that Storm also had a Team Canada stable in WCW's final year as well.
