Although his run in NXT as CJ Parker was a sea of boos, Juice Robinson’s move to New Japan has cemented him as the top gaijin babyface.

Joining the dojo as a Young Lion, in the same class as Jay White, David Finlay and Roppongi 3K's Sho and Yoh, Robinson went through the system gaining respect from all the New Japan fans. The company spent years building him up as a major member of Taguchi Japan but, although he loved fighting and pandering for the fans, he was never able to win gold.

In the G1 a few years ago, he was quoted saying that the tournament was: “19 of the best wrestlers in the world and Juice Robinson.” All this did was make us root for him even more. When he eventually won the US title from Jay White, everyone in the world felt like he’d more than deserved it. With the US title in hand, he fought anybody and everybody who wanted a shot at that title. He wanted to hold that belt to represent New Japan, the fans and the place he calls home.

From the happy go lucky entrance to his flamboyant gear, Juice has this charisma and appearance that just makes him so easy to love and relate to. Robinson is a world away from CJ Parker and it shows just how important a company is in building up a character and top star.
