See, Cena was still in his 'smiling babyface who wears tights and boots the colours of the hometown sports team' phase and, after an initially bright start, had slid down the card. He was a glorified tomato can for Lesnar, who ran through the future 15-time WWE Champion in about five minutes.

But this is still significant because it's the first one-on-one meeting between Lesnar and Cena on WWE television. Nobody batted an eyelid at the time, but it's fascinating to go back and watch it knowing their history with one another and where both men ended up in the end.
