Big bully Lesnar was one a roll in late 2003, completely dismantling much smaller opponents on a regular basis. The likes of Zach Gowen, Brian Kendrick, Paul London and Shannon Moore all felt the wrath of Lesnar, with one-legged wonder Gowen coming in for some particularly harsh treatment. One so-called 'little man' who could provide Lesnar with some competition was Rey Mysterio and the two clashed on December 11th.

Adding to the occasion was the fact that the match was taking place in Mysterio's hometown of San Diego, California. This was your classic big man/little man match, with Rey getting swatted away and overpowered and having to use his quickness and intelligence to get any sort of advantage on his massively muscled opponent.

Lesnar let Rey get a lot of his offense in, including a beautiful springboard dive to the outside of the ring, but he eventually seized control of the match and wore the maser of the 619 down. Brock dominated, with Rey's wife and kids looking on from the front row, squeezing the life out of him with a bodyscissors.

Rey fought back like the great babyface that he is and rocked Brock with a ringpost 619 and a springboard leg drop. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to secure the victory, and Lesnar came back with a vicious powerbomb and a vicious powerbomb and the Brock Lock for the submission win.

It wasn't a flawless match by any means, but it was heated and competitive and exciting and one of the more notable Smackdown matches from Lesnar's back catalogue.
