10 Best Candidates To Take John Cena's US Title

4. Kofi Kingston

The New Day has emerged as one of the most entertaining acts in WWE, and it's not like the company hasn't noticed - they've been given more TV time, higher profile feuds, and a mini-program with John Cena. On Raw two weeks ago, Xavier Woods unsuccessfully answered Cena's U.S. Title open challenge, and this past Monday, Big E did the same. Logic would dictate that Kofi Kingston gets his shot next, but what if he were to make good on his match for the belt?

Kingston is already one of the WWE Tag Team Champions, but a singles title win would remind fans that he's one of the company's best competitors. While Kofi has held the United States and Intercontinental Titles on multiple occasions, he's a heel for the first time in his long WWE career, and therefore in a position to make an even larger splash in a different way. Plus, The New Day is likely to lose the Tag Team Titles to The Dudley Boyz soon, and keeping a championship with the trio would be the best course of action.
