10 Best Champion Vs. Champion Matches In WWE History
2. Hulk Hogan (WWF) Vs. The Ultimate Warrior (Intercontinental)
WrestleMania VI might be the biggest and best one-match-card in wrestling history.
The match in question was the main event - WWF Champion, Hulk Hogan, taking on Intercontinental Champion, The Ultimate Warrior.
"The Ultimate Challenge" pitted the two most popular babyfaces in the company against one another with both titles on the line. The excitement leading into this event was palpable and nobody knew who was going to win.
Hogan was the seemingly-unstoppable champion, but Warrior was also incredibly over with the fans and on a winning streak of his own.
The match itself was more of a theatre piece than a wrestling match. The crowd were so into both men that all they had to do was lock up and they would get a response.
WrestleMania VI ended with Warrior standing tall, after he dodged a Hogan leg drop and delivered an Ultimate Splash to pin the world champion and claim his title. He ended his night holding both belts aloft as the new face of the WWF.
For its place in history and the place this match still has in the hearts of wrestling fans of a certain age, Hulk Hogan vs. The Ultimate Warrior remains one of the biggest WrestleMania main events of all time almost thirty years on.
