10 Best Crowd Chants From WWE SummerSlam 2016

Again, nothing particularly original here, as we heard the classic duelling chants between AJ Styles and John Cena during their back-and-forth 23-minute showdown.

“AJ Styles” and “let’s go Cena” were the phrases of choice for the supporters of each camp, but there were a couple of reasonsas to why this one stood out to me on this particular occasion.

First off, this wasn’t your usual “let’s go Cena” followed by an instant response of “Cena sucks”. Here, the reaction was actually something pro-Styles rather than anti-Cena, something WWE tried to get going during Cena's battles with CM Punk, without a great deal of success.

Secondly, more often than not it seemed to be the AJ Styles contingent who were kicking off the chants. Rather than the usual “let’s go Cena” followed by the hearty bellow of every male in the arena over the age of 18, this time it was those older fans who were kicking off proceedings with their pro-Styles cries.

Point being, AJ was super over in this one, more so than many of Cena’s opponents in recent years.
