10 Best Cruiserweight Wrestlers In The World Today
2. Finn Balor
Few wrestlers in the world have taken the sport by storm the way Finn Balor has - and while the Irish superstar has been recognized as a world-class talent for a long time, over the past few years, he's become one of the hottest names in pro wrestling. In 2013, Balor - then Prince Devitt - founded New Japan Pro Wrestling stable Bullet Club, a group that boosted NJPW's business even further and eventually became a global phenomenon. Balor left New Japan in 2014 to join WWE, and he quickly became one of the NXT brand's top stars. At last summer's "The Beast in the East" event, Balor defeated Kevin Owens to win the NXT Championship. He continues to gain popularity, and his future success on WWE's main roster is all but guaranteed. In a career that's seen Balor win a host of titles and achieve success as both a face and a heel, the superstar has gained acclaim for his prowess in the ring. Comparisons between Balor and Chris Benoit led New Japan Pro Wrestling to christen him "Pegasus Kid II" upon his arrival in 2006, and the Irish star lived up to those lofty expectations when he became one of the most honored junior heavyweights in New Japan history. He's poised to do the same thing in WWE.
