10 Best David Vs. Goliath Wrestling Matches Of All Time

4. Daniel Bryan Vs. Triple H - WrestleMania XXX

Although the biggest moment of Daniel Bryan's career wouldn't occur until later that evening in a triple threat match against Batista and Randy Orton, it was this preliminary match with Triple H that should be remembered as the better match, and a classic example of David Vs. Goliath done right.

And the spectacle of it all was so gloriously over-the-top that you couldn't help but be sucked into the match, even if you knew Bryan had to get the win to advance the narrative toward the main event (the video package they played before the match all but told you he'd be walking out of WrestleMania with the belt).

That didn't really matter by the time Triple H rose from beneath the stage on a giant throne, wearing a gold crown and face mask, with the most dramatic orchestra music you've ever heard playing behind him. And then there was Daniel Bryan...with his usual t-shirt.

The disparity couldn't have been more in-your-face.

In the ring, these guys were like chocolate and potato chips: You don't think they would go well together, but trust me, you're hooked from the first bite. Trips did his usual Cerebral Assassin bit, targeting Bryan's pre-existing injury while trying to create a few new ones.

Bryan brought his signature, fast-paced indie style to the mix, proving that his roots wouldn't keep him from hanging with the big boys, as Triple H had suggested.

The energy was palpable throughout, with the crowd bolstering every move with either the loudest cheer or most intense jeer they could muster.
