7. Drew Gulak Vs. Matt Riddle
When 205 Live and NXT started to merge their brands together, it created even more possibilities for dream matches. In February 2019, one of these came true as former EVOLVE stablemates Drew Gulak and Matt Riddle went one on one. They are two men that have always prided themselves on a submission wrestling style in the ring.
It was a feast from the second the bell rang. They both utilised their talents of limb manipulation and we saw a range of moves from armbars, knee strikes and powerbombs. Because of the history between the two, both found counters to each other’s moves which just made the match more exciting and unpredictable.
Even though Riddle got the win in the end with his patented Bromission, both were very respectful and exchanged a handshake after the match ended.
Many have described it as a technical wrestling masterclass.
