7. Guilty As Charged 1999
WWE.comShane Douglas had been the ECW Heavyweight Champion for thirteen months at this point, mostly out with an injured arm. The decision to keep the title on Douglas and keep his feud with Taz going was probably ill advised and would never have worked in this day and age (look at Daniel Bryan) but it did mean that when Douglas was cleared to wrestle, we got a mighty blow off match. To clarify, the Taz of ECW was not the same one you remember in WWE. ECW's Taz was an absolute killer and he was booked in a similar manner to the way Brock Lesnar is booked today. The rest of the card was also solid, with the various title matches and the debut of Tajiri and Super Crazy on a big stage. We also got a surprise in the form of good ol' Psycho Sid Vicious making his first ECW appearance. A great PPV all around.
