10 Best European Wrestlers In WWE History
9. Wade Barrett
The ignominy of being slapped by Wayne Rooney pushed Wade Barrett into an early retirement last year, but for nearly six years the Lancashire brawler - real name Stuart Bennett, and you can't get much more British than that - had been one of WWE's most exciting up-and-comers (albeit without ever managing to break into the upper echelons of the company for a sustained period).
Barrett's most notable work came in the early part of his run, when he led a gang of NXT rookies into the bright lights of Monday Night Raw in one of the company's most memorable angles for years, which almost culminated in him beating Cena for the title (and, if he had, few would have complained). Whilst he didn't quite fulfill his early promise, Barrett's time with WWE was undeniably a success.
