Not only did Shawn Michaels compete in the first ever Hell in a Cell, he also competed in the first ever ladder match, an Intercontinental title bout with Razor Ramon at Madison Square Garden's WrestleMania X*.

Fans weren't really sure what to expect going into this one, and whilst some of the spots may seem a little tame relative to the death-defying stunts we see with clockwork regularity these days, it proved to be a classic for its time - and one that has gone down as one of the all-time great WrestleMania matches.

*OK, so technically this was the second match of its kind, but the first - which took place in 1992 - was never aired. Also, it involved Shawn Michaels as well, so however you spin it, he participated in the first ladder match.
