10 Best Ever TNA Knockouts
1. Gail Kim
The only woman who can beat Kong is Kim, which is fitting, due to their feud being the finest the Knockouts Division has ever seen.
Kim has simply held the Knockouts Division together over the years. At times almost single-handedly. On October 14, 2007, she became the first Knockouts champion, and there was no better choice.
She was the face of the division when it was at its hottest, emerging as a hero battling all the top heels. Her departure in 2008 was a huge blow to the company, and a big mistake on TNA's part. It was rumoured she was offered an insultingly low offer, and had no real choice but to go to WWE, despite not wanting to.
She returned in 2011 to TNA, and in another one of the company's notoriously frustrating moves, they made her a heel. She should have been given a hero's welcome, as she returned home to where she wanted to be all along. But that would have been too obvious for the creative team. Still, she’s been the focal point of the division largely ever since, and is trying to help them re-capture the buzz they lost long ago.
At 39-years-old, Kim is still on top of her game. She doesn’t seem to have lost a step in the ring, and she’s a worker who is usually asked to carry her opponent. She’s had five runs with the title spanning 703 days. Madison Rayne is over 300 days behind her, which means Gail’s record should be safe for some time.
