10 Best Ever TNA Knockouts
10. Daffney
Poor Daffney had to start in TNA in the aforementioned Lingerie Battle Royal. Though perhaps she didn't mind her elimination was left off-screen, as the camera was focused on a dreadlocked Ed Ferrara being seduced. Ugh. Early TNA.
Anyway, Daffney disappeared for a few years, and then in 2008, she returned as a character who was supposed to be Sarah Palin, called The Governor. The company went so far as to have her compete in a match under the gimmick. The act didn’t last long, as it was revealed it was actually Daffney in disguise. Thankfully, she quickly returned to the crazy, screaming goth persona she’d created in WCW.
From there she was in a brief, but promising stable with Stevie Richards, Abyss and Raven that should have gone on a lot longer. The four mentally disturbed characters could have been a solid mid-card act for years. As a singles competitor, her biggest match was challenging Tara for the Knockouts Title at Destination X. She came up short, but stole her opponent’s beloved tarantula, so it was still a win of sorts.
There were better workers than Daffney in the Knockouts Division, but few that have ever been as good at their characters as she was. She could cut crazy promos, had that delightfully memorable scream and had a wide-range as an actress. Unfortunately, the company let her go, despite the sacrifices she put her body through, and the fact that she was really entertaining.
