While WrestleMania 28 was more than a mixed bag with some questionable booking decisions, Extreme Rules picked up the pieces and presented itself as a chaotic masterpiece, even with its own questionable ending. John Cena may have gone over on Brock Lesnar in Lesnar's return bout, but everything before the finish (with lots of blood and rarefied mayhem) left the audience both captivated and stunned.

Daniel Bryan finally got his World Championship match with Sheamus proper, putting over the new champion in a well-crafted two out of three falls match that certainly trumps an 18-second ignominy. CM Punk made the best of his hometown Chicago environs by toppling Chris Jericho in a WWE Championship street fight, in which both men went old school by actually wearing street clothes.
