Now we’re getting into the matches that were headliners at WrestleMania and so nice that WWE felt like they had to run them twice.

First up, Undertaker and Edge for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 24. Taker won the Elimination Chamber to become #1 contender for Edge’s title and was able to overcome the Edgeheads’ interference to win the title and add onto his perfect Mania record of 16-0.

It only took a matter of days for SmackDown GM (and Edge’s storyline fiancée) Vickie Guerrero to book a rematch for Backlash, which once again saw Undertaker have to contend with outside interference. Once again though, Taker managed to put Edge down with Hell’s Gate submission, retaining the title.

Taker would be stripped of the title later that week because he (in storyline) injured Edge with Hell’s Gate as the angle continued. But despite that, Taker pretty clearly handled his business.
