8. Shane McMahon Defends His Mother's Honour ('Mania X-Seven)

Goosebumps were everywhere inside the Houston Astrodome when a drugged-up Linda McMahon rose from her wheelchair and kicked Vince squarely in the grapefruits. This, love it or loathe it, was Attitude era McMahon silliness at its finest, and both Vince and Shane managed to squeeze one hell of a brawl in too.

Yes, again, it was ridiculous.

Vince acted like a playboy by smooching Trish Stratus in front of his sedated wife, and rebellious son Shane was out for blood after purchasing the remnants of WCW from under his father's nose to prove a point. The WWF managed to tie all of this together into a melodramatic Street Fight at 'Mania X-Seven, and it was awesome.

Shane's bid to defend his mother's bruised honour against his tyrannical father was prime soap-opera bullsh*t that had people hooked in 2001. It was absurd, over-the-top and outrageous, but it was an absolute riot.
