Everything you know is a lie when you watch this because the truth is a hundred million times more terrifying.

Randy Savage was a man who sold fear magnificently as a heel but stared it dead on as a babyface. But could you blame him for absolutely caking it at the idea of Jake Roberts' king cobra biting him in the f*cking eyes during an incredible November 1991 Superstars segment.

The whole harrowing angle played out exactly as it was supposed to of course, but anybody watching it as it happened couldn't know that for sure. Especially when the snake went deep enough to draw blood, Savage sold being poisoned in ultra-convincing fashion and pro wrestling was playing host to a man being bitten by a deadly reptile.

It's said all the time because it's true - this whole scene hasn't aged a day, with ancillary performers Roddy Piper, Miss Elizabeth and Vince McMahon on the call all contributing to a truly magic and era-defining moment.
