10 Best "Everything You Know Is A Lie" Moments In Wrestling

4. Shane McMahon Pops The Territory

The Bloodline
WWE

Shane McMahon isn't exactly many people's favourite wrestler - including his own Father if a backstage squabble at the Royal Rumble 2022 is anything to go by - but his impact upon returning from non-wrestling wilderness in 2016 was undeniable from the moment that f*cking insufferable music hit.

An absolutely humongous pop greeted his February 22nd Monday Night Raw return, as did the news that he'd be The Undertaker's WrestleMania 32 opponent as WWE stared down the barrel of an injury crisis before 'The Show Of Shows'. The announcement worked, and shifted literally tens of thousands of tickets for the Dallas supershow.

That the eventual match was terrible didn't even matter - McMahon had miraculously proven his worth in the moment. 'The Money' went on to have a post-return run as frantically up and down as his own cardiovascular conditioning, but the impact of his bizarre but brilliant return to the family business became lore within a split second of his theme's sting.
