8. Alexa Bliss

Speaking of breakout stars, Alexa Bliss is arguably one of the most unexpected successes of 2016. Sure, she hasn’t won a title yet, and probably won’t do for some time, but she has made a seamless transition to the SmackDown Live roster, and has thrived as the nasty petulant heel in her feud with perennial babyface Becky Lynch.

Bliss has natural athleticism and charisma in the ring. She is comfortable in her heel work and her promos are confidently delivered. She's also proven to be creative with her entrances and attire, playing up the part of the comic book villain. Expect Bliss to hold the SmackDown Live women’s title within a year if she keeps this up.

Stephanie Lim lives in London and has been watching wrestling since she was 4 years old, which is longer ago than she would like to admit. Her favourite wrestler of all time is Shawn Michaels, her favourite current wrestler is Kevin Owens, and she will always regret being too young to push her way through the crowd to shake Bret Hart's hand at a WWE event in 1993.
