The Undertaker may have gone on to enjoy an epic four-year saga with Triple H and Shawn Michaels across four WrestleManias, but he crossed paths with the pair a decade earlier in a program that was every bit as compelling.

Though primarily revolving around 'Taker's beef with Michaels (after HBK accidentally cost The Deadman his WWE Championship at SummerSlam '97), the rivalry's population multiplied quickly.

While HHH, Chyna and Rick Rude got involved to aid Michaels at every given opportunity, The Phenom also had to contend with the looming presence, eventual debut and ever-present threat of Kane at the same time. He was getting it from all angles and yet, the creative team did a bang-up job of maintaining the focus on his hatred with Michaels, allowing the program to shine both in the ring and out of it.

Playing out over a five-month period, 'Taker's quest for vengeance took him and Michaels to the first ever Hell In A Cell match and the company's most enjoyable Casket Match, and it ultimately delivered the most exhilarating program of his entire career at the time.
