10 Best Gimmick WrestleMania Matches
1. The Undertaker Vs. Triple H (Hell In A Cell Match) - WrestleMania XVIII
In spite of being one of WWE's signature matches, there have only been three Hell In A Cell bouts on the Grandest Stage Of Them All - and only one of them was worth writing home (or here) about.
The Undertaker and Triple H's war inside the steel prison was a battle fought on many fronts. On one hand, it was the third installment in what was shaping up to be a classic trilogy; on the other, it was the fourth installment in a four-year story that saw one faction step up to take 'The Deadman's Streak away from him; and on another, it was that 'Deadman's chance to prove that he still had it.
Somehow, in spite of the fact that they were robbed of the main event slot, in spite of their aging battle-wounded bodies, and in spite of coming off the back of 'Taker's five best consecutive 'Mania matches, the clash succeeded on every front imaginable as Hell In A Cell's two greatest warriors battled for supremacy one more time - while the man who shaped so much of their careers refereed, allowing the three of them to bring about the end of one of wrestling's greatest eras in sensational, epic fashion.
The cell didn't come into play as much as you would think, and yet it felt completely justified. One of the few battles in a modern day WWE that actually warranted its bloodthirsty setting, it was still sparing in its use of the steel structure because it knew the story was the most important thing here. And what an incredible story it told.
