Was there ever a star-making moment quite like this one? The match that, in many people's minds, played a pivotal role in kicking off the Attitude Era, it saw the ever-confrontational Stone Cold Steve Austin take on wrestling technician Bret Hart in a Submission Match - with Ken Shamrock serving as the special guest-referee.

Naturally, it was ending of this one that drew the most attention as it resulted in fans inundating the heel Rattlesnake with love after passing out to the Sharpshooter (not tapping out) and turning on Hart in the process. However, the match itself was one of the most engaging and well-paced affairs of its era - and indeed in WrestleMania history (and given that much of the match utilised submission holds, that really is a testament to both superstars).

With crowd investment the likes of which you would never hear today, both Hart and Austin played their roles to perfection here - all while taking full advantage of the stipulated match's distinct lack of rules. And although the sight of Austin's bloody face was gruesome, we just couldn't look away from the story being told here: That story was, without question, the bird of the legendary Stone Cold Steve Austin.
