7. Bobby Roode

Few WWE employees have a strong grasp of their gimmick than Bobby Roode. He's entirely convincing in his role, and while much of his appeal comes from his bombastic entrance music, you could slot him in as a main event heel in any American wrestling promotion in the 1980s and he wouldn't look out of place at all.

The former NXT Champion has been working babyface on SmackDown, and changing crowd dynamics mean he'll always draw cheers from large portions of the audience, but everything about him screams "classic wrestling heel". From his slow, methodical in-ring style to the gloriously cocky promos, Roode has mastered his craft, and now seems destined to become a huge main roster star.

The big debate is whether or not he'd have reached such a level without the 'Glorious' hype. He clearly benefits from having the company's catchiest theme, and his big match entrances are always memorable, but most of his appeal comes from his gimmick mastery. If it didn't, Roode's hype would've gone the way of Fandangoing a long time ago, and we wouldn't be talking about him as a potential pay-per-view main eventer today.
