2. The Miz

There isn't a more natural heel in WWE than The Miz at the moment. The current Intercontinental Champion was born to be the bad guy, and while his character direction hasn't always been perfect throughout his career, his past 12 months have been stellar.

'The A-Lister' killed it on SmackDown, and helped carry the brand's success following the 2016 Draft. It started with his vicious verbal takedown of Daniel Bryan, continued through excellent feuds with Dolph Ziggler and Dean Ambrose, and endured all the way to his and Maryse's rivalry with John Cena and Nikki Bella. Sure, the match itself was no more than a backdrop for a marriage proposal, but 'The A-Lister' was in searing form throughout the build.

Miz mightn't be the flashiest wrestler around, but few performers give off a stronger sense of character when the bell rings. His moveset is slow and basic, and he's willing to take every shortcut in the book to ensure victory: a rarity in the modern era, when "working heel" often amounts to nothing more than an extended resthold spot.

Regardless, Miz' microphone work remains his strongest attribute. He's the best promo in the company on his day, and a master of crowd control whose arrogance and outrage shine through in every sentence. A pitch perfect Hollywood heel, his projection is already flawless, but only improves with each passing year.
