10 Best Gimmicks In WWE Right Now
1. Braun Strowman
Braun Strowman is the greatest monster heel in WWE history.
He doesn't have the accolades or historical significance of an Andre the Giant or Kane yet, but those will come in time. For now, he is not only the most attention-grabbing performer in the company today, but a wrestler with a far broader skillset than anyone who as ever played this role for WWE, regardless of era.
Braun ticks all the traditional monster boxes by being big, strong, and imposing, but there's so much more to his game than that. He's a tremendous athlete for a man of his size, and his regular sprints and charges attest, which only makes him more intimidating in the ring. Furthermore, his charisma levels are through the roof, and he has forged an incredible connection with the crowd, meaning he'll probably become the biggest star in the business if WWE ever turn him face.
Strowman has his weaknesses, but he is in the perfect place character-wise. He represents the evolution of the monster heel away from the old stereotypes, and towards a multifaceted form that's infinitely more enjoyable to watch. WWE have nailed his creative direction since splitting from the Wyatt Family, and although he'll likely need to wait a while before becoming Universal Champion, Braun is potentially the era-defining star we've all been waiting for.
