10 Best Great American Bash Matches Ever

6. Sting Vs. Ric Flair (World Title) - 1990

WWE.comWWE.comIt was one of the biggest moments in NWA history as Ric Flair defended the World Title against Sting. At the time, Sting hadn't been a World Champion while Flair was the dominant figure in the company. There were a bunch of guys outside the ring supporting Sting to prevent Flair's buddies in the Four Horsemen from interfering. The atmosphere for the match was incredible. Flair was such a great champion that it was hard for anybody to beat him whether it was due to his friends interfering or because he always found ways to retain. This time, though, Sting was able to get the win because his buddies took care of the Horsemen trying to interfere. They could have done a finish where Sting made Flair quit to the Scorpion Deathlock, but instead they had Sting counter the Figure Four Leglock and he pinned Flair with an inside cradle. Once the bell rang, the fans went crazy. It's one of the loudest ovations you will ever hear. This isn't their best match (their match at the first Clash of the Champions in 1988 was better), but it's still one of the best feel good moments that NWA/WCW ever did. The people absolutely loved it.
