10 Best Heel And Face Turns At WWE WrestleMania
4. Stone Cold - WrestleMania X-Seven
The long-term effects of turning Stone Cold Steve Austin heel at WrestleMania X-Seven included (but were not limited to) the death of the entire Attitude Era, the biggest boom period in the history of professional wrestling.
Yet, it's impossible to deny that this was one of the great (or at least memorable) moments in the event's 34-year history. Here you had the biggest babyface WWE had ever seen going bad - and doing so by forming a dirty pact with his former arch-nemesis.
It was brilliantly called by JR too, the undisputed voice of Monday Night Raw momentarily dropping all pretence of impartiality and taking the opportunity to admonish the Texas Rattlesnake for "shaking hands with Satan himself".
The only thing missing was an equally compelling aftermath. Austin's new character didn't take over the months that followed, with fans continuing to cheer him even when he was threatening to undermine the fabric of the company by joining up with The Alliance.
