10 Best Heels In Lucha Underground

5. Johnny Mundo

Mundo was a fun wrestler to watch in WWE as John Morrison and Johnny Nitro, but his character wasn't all that interesting. As a heel or face, he was never quite defined. He always felt one-dimensional, and often relied on terrible humor when given the chance on the mic. Thankfully, the brain trust in Lucha Underground have fixed that dilemma, turning him into one of the most fun members on the roster.

Mundo was in the main event on the inaugural show, quickly becoming a fan favorite due to his high-flying ability and successful WWE tenure. But he’s served the company so much better as a heel. He’s a cocky, egotistical jerk, who frustratingly can back it up in the ring, scoring pinfalls against many of Lucha Underground's best.

This year Mundo has added Taya to his act, which has been a boon for both of them. She's the perfect partner to team with, as their chemistry together has been immensely entertaining. Whether competing in great tag matches, or messing with their chosen nemesis Cage, they’ve been delightfully annoying, and can fit anywhere on the card.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
