The buzz was there for Josh Alexander and TJP's sixty-minute Iron Man match before it had even aired.

For IMPACT to pull of such a stipulation - the first of its kind in the Anthem-helmed promotion mind - in tremendous fashion takes some serious gusto from both the company to promote it, and from the guys involved to keep the match fresh for the duration of the sixty minutes. Doing so without a live audience to take the match in, however, deserves serious praise.

Spread across Before The IMPACT and the first chunk of the full-fat IMPACT broadcast on 3 June, Josh Alexander delivered a career-defining performance vs. a potential career-defining rival. His work with TJP - and, for a while, Ace Austin, too - was special. 'The Walking Weapon' needed to prove he could branch out from tag team wrestling when Ethan Page departed IMPACT for AEW; by crafting together a sixty-minute Iron Man match and making it feel like a third of this, you've got a star.

Yes, they followed some Iron Man matches tropes - the champion going one fall up early, leading to a cat and mouse chase as the time drops - but these nuances worked to perfection here. Alexander and TJP took the Iron Man match stipulation and delivered an all-time great within the category.

Again, in front of no fans other than the emptied locker room. Hats off.
