From one end of the professional wrestling spectrum to another, Sami Callihan and Eddie Edwards' Barbed Wire Massacre contest from January's Hard To Kill was as sublime a vicious encounter as it was a masterful showcase of Extreme Championship Wrestling.

It's helped, of course, that Tommy Dreamer works as a creative writer and producer for the company. There's no word on if the hardcore icon actually worked with the duo on the match, but regardless, having such a prolific ECW alum in a backstage role must help when crafting together such a callous gem.

As with Callihan's Last Man Standing outing with Trey Miguel at April's Rebellion pay-per-view, 'The Draw' dominated portions of the bout, as he always should in such a stipulation bout; a middle-rope Piledriver through a barbed wire board wasn't the match-ender. Legitimately stomach-churning material, and yet, it was instead a barbed wire-assisted Boston Knee Party that ended the inhumane encounter.

Your writer's only gripe with this is that, despite being billed as Callihan and Edwards' feud-ender, they did battle once more a few months later in an Under Siege qualifier. If you forget about that, though, this acted as a suitable culmination to one of the defining rivalries of this current era of IMPACT.
