10 Best Independent American Wrestlers Today
2. Jay Lethal
The most remarkable thing about Jay Lethal is that he's still only 32. The ROH star - who held the company's top belt for close to a year up to August 2016 - has already had a considerable brush with the mainstream in the form of a five-year stint with TNA, part of which (probably too much of which) he spent doing an impression of Randy Savage under the name "Black Machismo".
These days, his shtick is a little more on the serious side, although natural charisma is one thing that he definitely still has in abundance, alongside the ability to put on great matches with almost anyone (something fans of WCPW will be able to attest to). Lethal also has years left on the clock, and will continue to be one of the most sought-after independent bookings for as long as he remains off the WWE payroll.
