RVD vs. Chris Jericho sounds tantalising doesn't it? This match sounds fun in 2016, let alone 2003 when both men were arguably in their athletic prime. The middle of the RAW card was in pretty good shape that year, and these two men were two of the lynchpins. They actually did battle twice on this night, as their beef got swallowed up by the larger power struggle between Stone Cold Steve Austin and Eric Bischoff.

Jericho won the prestigious title in their first match thanks to an assist from Easy E, but the Texas Rattlesnake wasn't standing for that. An immediate rematch was booked, this time inside a steel cage, as Van Dam picked up the win and retained/regained his championship.

In losing the cage match, Jericho became one of only three men to hold the Intercontinental Championship for less than a day. The other two? Triple H and Dean Douglas.
