10 Best Intergender Wrestling Matches Ever

7. Ricochet Vs. Tessa Blanchard (Midas Touch '17)

One of Tessa Blanchard's earlier trips into the controversial world of intergender wrestling saw her lock horns with then-boyfriend Ricochet for Beyond Wrestling.

Ricochet was a top dog in both Dragon Gate and the US indies at the time, and had garnered a loyal cult following for his death-defying high-flying antics. Blanchard, meanwhile, at just 22, was already turning heads with her athleticism and technical wrestling skill.

Matching each other's agility and conditioning, the pair put together an all-action, 15-minute thriller. From torturing Ricochet with the dreaded Octopus submission hold to spiking him fresh on the dome with a Poisonrana, Blanchard was made to look every bit 'King's equal as the match wore on.

Ricochet, meanwhile, plays the part of surprise well, selling his neck frequently in the latter stages of the match as he realises he's in for a much bigger fight than expected. Considering Ricochet's high standing at the time, his loss here came as a big surprise, popping the modestly-sized crowd and helping to solidify Blanchard as the real deal at the indie level.

While the match looks a little too neat and tidy on some of the more elaborate spots, its overall pacing and psychology are a testament to the talents of both stars.
