2010 was the year everything truly started going south for TNA, but there was also a lot of good hidden in all of the guff. This match from No Surrender in 2010 had an immensely frustrating false finish followed by an even more frustrating finish, but the quality of work put in by Hardy and Kurt Angle still keeps this match in the high star range.

The winner of this semi-final was to advance to the main event of Bound for Glory to challenge for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship, and it was becoming clear to TNA that this most likely should have been the final. If we close our eyes and imagine this as the final (you can invent your own finish), it is more than worthy.

The first phase of the match is a 20 minute time limit draw, complete with dramatic ending as Jeff Hardy refuses to tap whilst deep in the Ankle Lock. Phase two is overtime, but even double overtime can't produce a winner.

The styles of the two men meshed fantastically here, Angle's machine-like accuracy and intensity juxtaposed beautifully against Hardy's all-too-human frailties and love of risk. In 2010 this was a main event anywhere in the USA, and misusing both men is one of the many reasons TNA fell apart when they were finally in a position to do something.
