10 Best Kurt Angle Matches Since He Left WWE

3. Angle Vs. Desmond Wolfe - Turning Point 2009

The debut of Desmond Wolfe on Impact may have been the best one TNA has ever booked (unless you're a big Trytan fan). He simply introduced himself to Kurt Angle, shook his hand and then beat him up. Well done.

It was an effective way to create a new star (or someone that should have been a star). Wolfe continued to attack Angle repeatedly, attempting to make a name for himself, so a match was inevitable. While we knew both men were world class workers, we didn’t know how good it was going to be. It ended up as a TNA classic, and one of the best matches of the year in any promotion.

Despite A.J. Styles, Samoa Joe and Christopher Daniels having a fantastic rematch from their greatest TNA match of all time (Unbreakable 2005) in the main event, it was the newcomer Wolfe, and the longtime veteran Angle who stole the show.

Even more impressive was that Angle reportedly threw out his back just minutes into the match. It’s scary to think of how good it would have been if Angle was 100%.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
