10 Best Main Roster Debuts By WWE NXT Stars
1. Kevin Owens
When someone enters the terrifying world of prison, some advice given is to go up to the biggest and baddest guy there and punch him in the face. It's a way to gain immediate respect from your fellow inamtes and to announce you are not to be messed with.
That is exactly what Kevin Owens did his first night on Monday Night Raw. Much like his former best friend, the NXT Champion’s main roster debut was spent answering the United States Open Challenge of John Cena. Except, winning the red white and blue championship was not what KO wanted to accomplish in his debut.
Only having arrived in NXT five months ago, his goal was to make as big an impact as possible. After reminding The Face That Runs The Place that he was far from a rookie in need of ‘veteran advice,’ he dropped the United States Champion with a Pop-Up Powerbomb before stepping on Cena's title while raising his NXT Championship high.
Holding your own with John Cena on the mic, then dropping the biggest name in WWE, and following that up by defeating him in your debut match cements Kevin Owens' arrival as the best main roster debut for someone from NXT.
