3. Rey Mysterio Vs. Psychosis - November To Remember 1995

Rey Mysterio had many, many great rivals in his early years, and a solid argument could be made for Psychosis being the greatest of them all. As a youngster I could never really get over how silly Psychosis' mask looked, especially with the horns and the massive hair. Still, the guy was more than capable in the ring, especially when up against an opponent of Rey's calibre.

The bout between the two at November to Remember in 1995 was a Mexican Death Match, meaning victory was achieved by pinning your opponent and then them staying down for a 10-count. The action was fast and the action was furious, with the two putting on something of a lucha clinic to audiences that were still new to the style.

One issue that can be thrown at the match is the number of pinfalls throughout, but these also make sense. By taking a pin and then waiting to get up, a competitor could buy themselves some valuable recuperation time. See, psychology kids.

Rey picked up the win after a rana from the Eagle's Nest to the floor. The match only went just over 10 minutes, but what a 10 minutes it was.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
