10 Best Matt Hardy Matches

5. W/ Jeff Hardy Vs. The Young Bucks (ROH Supercard Of Honor XI)

Matt Hardy Edge
ROH

Passing the torch of tag team excellence to the sibling duo long-destined to replace them, Matt and Jeff's final match on the independent scene before their explosive WWE return in 2017 was their best ever doubles duel away from the company that made them stars.

The comparisons had gone beyond the neon tights worn by The Young Bucks in tribute to the original Hardy gear - The Jacksons were D.I.Y spot monkeys come very, very good, just like Matt and Jeff had in their final run as a unit. In The Bucks, Matt and Jeff saw younger versions of themselves ready to surpass them, and a Ladder War loaded with terrifying table spots was the most fitting way for the teams to trade titles.

Before fans knew their "Expedition Of Gold" had a twist ending 24 hours later, the raucous ROH crowd bore witness to an ultra-heated stunt show filled with Bucks bumps that enhanced the legendary ladder series pioneered by the North Carolinians nearly two decades earlier. Matt and Nick added twists and turns to their tumbles, whilst a double superkick finish as both teams grasped for the gold put the icons down in the grandest fashion possible.
