10 Best Modern WWE Rivalries
3. 3: Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho
Chris Jericho is an industry veteran who has made it clear that the ability to adapt to the ever-changing landscape of the business is essential for remaining relevant. His skill for staying in the spotlight has always been incredible, and one of his most significant periods was as Chris Jericho, the connoisseur of the list.
After building up a strong relationship with the fantastic Kevin Owens, the pair were the most entertaining thing to watch on RAW. Whilst they didn't entirely end up with the star power to match Lesnar and Goldberg, their character development and segments were unmissable as they contradicted the company's formulaic approach to promos, giving the performers the freedom to actually make something fun. This is why, when KO betrayed their dynamic, fans were so devastated: he was taking away the only other thing we were enjoying about RAW, and that filled the feud with genuine anger.
Whilst KO's motive was unclear, the audience connection to the feud was something unseen in modern wrestling; it didn't feel like WWE were putting together two performers, it more resembled two people who needed to prove which was better for the fans.
Their match at WrestleMania was at one point going to be the main event. Sadly, things didn't go that way, but still, the dynamic between the two will stand the test of time.
