10 Best Moments From Hulk Hogan's 2002 WWE Return
5. Returning To The Red And Yellow
At WrestleMania 18, Toronto turned Hogan into a hero. The next night on RAW, Montreal him a hero’s welcome. Yet something still wasn’t right. The sight and sound of Hogan coming to the ring in Black and White, combined with the slightly-pornographic NWO theme playing in the background was not associated with the Hulk Hogan people were clamouring for.
That all changed one fateful evening (April 4 2002 to be exact). With Triple H out in the ring addressing his upcoming match with Hulk for the Undisputed Title, an iconic guitar riff began emanating from the speakers in the arena. With the opening chords to Jimi Hendrix’s “Voodoo Child” came Hulk Hogan, not as the ousted leader of the New World Order but clad in the Red and Yellow made famous during peak HulkaMania.
No attention was called to the change of wardrobe by Hogan or Triple H, but it was clear to fans around the world that the “true” Hulkster was back!
