Anyone totally new to WWE would be forgiven for rubbing their eyes at the picture accompanying this entry.

Nowadays, Heath Slater and Rhyno are Raw's go-to jobber tag-team. Whenever anybody else needs a quick win, they're the ones to call upon. It wasn't always that way, as those who regularly tuned into SmackDown post-WWE Draft in the summer of 2016 can attest. Back then, Slater and Rhyno were important.

Slater, buoyed by a new trailer trash gimmick that centred around him trying to feed all 18 million of his children, entered some career-best performances as a hapless babyface. He was backed up by Rhyno, himself enjoying the limelight as a cheese cracker-obsessed walking cartoon who could turn nasty when his friend was threatened.

The pair enjoyed excellent chemistry from the off, and they were even given the distinction of being the first ever SmackDown Tag-Team Champions. That kind of success seems impossible for the pair now. They've dwindled down the card so far that memories are all they have to go on.
