There was a time when Chyna was hot news on everyone's lips, and Vince McMahon was keen to capitalise on her appeal. In the early years of the new millennium, she was a popular star for media appearances, interviews, and autograph signings. She also appeared in several television shows away from the WWF.

She played a role of 'Janice' in the wildly popular comedy 3rd Rock From The Sun, and also made radio appearances on The Howard Stern Show. In 2001, the WWF looked to further gain from her notoriety by releasing her autobiography, 'If They Only Knew'. It was placed on The New York Times Bestseller list.

Chyna's fame wouldn't quite last as a crossover star, but there are pictures of her signing her Playboy magazine cover years after her wrestling career had ended. In the late-1990s and early 2000s, Joanie Laurer was a genuine celebrity who appeared to have everything going for her.

Her moment in the sun may have been fleeting, but it also must be considered a successful period for Chyna overall.
