2. The New Day Vs. The Usos (2017)

Though the teams would have marginally better matches (in marginally worse spots) later that year, the first meeting between SmackDown Live! tag team doyens The Usos and blue brand newcomers The New Day was a blinding foreshadow of what else the teams would later prove capable of.

Beyond the reach of almost every doubles division clash around that time, the groups traded countless unique sequences as their instant chemistry materialised in front of a bewitched Missouri crowd.

Still working as vicious heels, Jimmy and Jey's work on Kofi's previously injured leg loaned an old fashioned panache to the dynamic dives and aerial assaults they normally peppered their routine title defences with.

The first use of Kofi's trust fall (a move rooted in psychological stupidity that was ultimately paid off in later matches) fed into an unfortunately cheap finish - Jimmy and Jey took a walk and took their titles rather than continuing the clash.

A taster of even more amazing things to come, it thankfully left plenty on the table between the pairs, trading titles as they did throughout the summer months in matches on multiple shows before ultimately forging a mutual respect that furnished The Usos with an overdue babyface turn.
