10 Best Nicknames In Modern Wrestling

9. The Murderhawk Monster (Lance Archer)

AKA "The best Mad Max character that never was". (For additional fun, try saying "Murderhawk Monster" in Immortan Joe's gruff Aussie accent).

One of the most recent nicknames on the list, Lance Archer's Murderhawk moniker came about in 2019 when he debuted a wild, flowing mohawk at NJPW's annual G1 Climax tournament. Archer described his crimson-red 'do as a "murderhawk", and the name took on a life of its own.

It's easy to see why "The Murderhawk Monster" caught on. Alliterative nicknames are always a good shout (Brahma Bull, Captain Charisma, Golden Goddess etc.), and as the blood-spattered picture adorning this list entry illustrates, Archer fully lives up to his billing as a monster.

A towering, wild-eyed beast of a man, Lance Archer is arguably the most physcially intimidating heel in AEW. Like the aforementioned Minoru Suzuki, Archer's goal in matches isn't just to beat his opponents but to break them. (Little wonder the pair are part of the same stable).

To borrow Immortan Joe's most famous line, the Murderhawk Monster is anything but "mediocre".
