Alberto Del Rio had won the Royal Rumble the month prior and earned the right to face whomever was World Champion at WrestleMania. The World Champion was to be decided inside the Elimination Chamber on this night. Del Rio might not have been competing in the Chamber but was still able to compete on the card against Kofi Kingston.

Kingston's high flying offense balanced by the more submission-styled Del Rio was was well-received by the hot Oakland crowd. Kofi would attempt a cross-body off the top rope at one point only to be countered by Del Rio who was able to make Kofi land chest-first onto his knees. It looked pretty sick.

Other good spots included when Kofi scored some serious air in an extremely high missile dropkick. Also, Del Rio busted out a brutal neckbreaker onto Kofi who was hanging in a Tree of Woe setup.

Del Rio won the match courtesy of his Cross Armbreaker. He had to beat on Kingston's hands to get them unclasped, which was a nice touch.

Later in the show, Edge would be victorious in his Elimination Chamber match. Del Rio came out to assault him but a returning Christian would make the save.
