A year removed from his trilogy with Ciampa, Johnny Gargano took part in three back-to-back TakeOver main events against Adam Cole.

After Cole took Gargano's NXT Championship at TakeOver: XXV, a rematch was set for TakeOver: Toronto and it was to be contested under a unique set of rules. The match was two-out-of-three falls with each fall having its own twist. After a straight-up singles match and no-DQ match, the third and final stipulation descended from the heavens in the form of a barbed wired-topped cage.

Gargano and Cole beat each other to within an inch of their lives inside the cage. Cole hit Gargano with a Panama Sunrise off the top of a ladder for a near fall; a spot that would have ended any other match. That moment was saved for a truly insane stunt. Cole and Gargano scaled the side of the cage, dangerously close to the barbed wire. After throwing hands, both men plummeted from the top of the cage and crashed through a set of tables below.

This stunning spot was truly something to behold and capped off a truly monumental 46-minute match.
